Have you always wanted to write Comedy? Do you have an idea for a Sitcom but don’t know where to start? Have you started a Sitcom script but don’t know how to finish it? Whether you are a first time writer or an experienced one, this Sitcom Writing Workshop will help you develop your ideas. The Workshop, which is run by award-winning Writer and Comedian Bennett Arron who has had over 30 sitcom scripts and a feature film produced on television and has written for several BAFTA-winning programmes, will include: How To Start From a Blank Page Characterisation Plot Development Dialogue Joke Writing Story Arcs Formatting How to Submit Scripts to Producers By the end of the Workshop you will have written a scene for a Brand New Sitcom which Bennett will read and then give you notes.
Previous workshop attendees have; had their own sitcom scripts produced, won the BAFTA Rocliffe Writing Award, been awarded a University Scholarship for an MA in TV Fiction Writing, had a programme commissioned by Sky Arts and won the Best Comedy Short Film at the Los Angeles Global Film Festival.
This course normally cost £100 but as part of the Festival, Stand Up for South Wales are subsidising spaces so that it costs just £22!
