COLIN PRICE AND OSCAR & THE KINGFISHERS.

We are pleased to present three famous names from the Welsh World of Entertainment here at the Gwyn Theatre, Neath.

COMEDY

Starring the incomparable OWEN MONEY MBE who will grace the stage with his bounding personality and charm. Owen Money starred with many bands including Gerry Braden and the Cheating Hearts then Tomfoolery who were very successful in the UK with successful summer seasons in Blackpool. He is also known for his very popular BBC radio shows – "Money for Nothing" and "Owen Moneys Solid Gold Sundays".

The legendary COLIN PRICE has been on the scene for many years. Once a Miner, he started entertaining in many concert parties learning his craft as one of Wales favourite comedians. Colin has worked all over the UK and worked abroad in places like Dubai to celebrate St David’s Day. He appeared on the very popular COMEDIANS Show for Granada Television. Recently Colin has been appearing with famous sporting personalities in the “After Dinner Speaking” Nights. He also supported Max Boyce on many theatre tours. Colins popularity is due to the fact that he can vary his act to suit the audience and the occasion. We are honoured to have Colin taking part in this iconic show.

MUSIC

We are very proud to be able to present Icons of Welsh music which is provided by the well known group OSCAR & THE KINGFISHERS – Once known as The Arwyn Jones band, the Kingfishers earned him the nickname “Oscar”. During the sixties, seventies and eighties with Oscar, they became quite famous appearing in venues all over the UK including the famous Batley Variety Club. Oscar is the father of Kelly Jones (from The Stereophonics) and in the early years, Kelly spent a lot of his youth in Working Men’s Clubs watching his Father perform. Oscar was a major influence in the early years of his son's career, who later had world-wide hits with the group – "The Stereophonics".

The Bohemians take you on a high energy roller coaster ride of a concert, featuring the back catalogue of one of the world’s most popular and iconic rock acts of all time.

Billed as ‘The World’s most exciting Queen Tribute’ The Bohemians start proceedings as they mean to continue.

Right from the beginning you will be gripped by a bombastic, authentic audiovisual representation of Queen’s iconic Wembley ‘86 performance as the Bohemians burst onto the stage to the strains of One Vision and A Kind of Magic. So many fabulous hits to be covered but they’re all here, from the early piano and harmony heavy wonders of Killer Queen and Don’t Stop Me Now, to the later, catchy pop anthems of the eighties.

The second Hour concentrates on the later hits and once again there are so many to choose from.

The stunning, Breakthru provides both the introduction and the costume presentation for this part of the set which includes a new feature of the Bohemians stage show, a slick rendering of classics from the late eighties and early nineties era. I Want it all, The Show must go on and the haunting, Days of our Lives are just some of those featured.

Next up it’s the sights and sounds of the famous Live Aid performance and of course, the awesome Bohemian Rhapsody. Then it’s back to Wembley ‘86 for a suitably rousing finale when The Bohemians will have you on your feet, singing, dancing and clapping along to the likes of We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. The appropriate climax to a truly memorable live re-enactment of the world’s greatest Rock Band.

Francis will be performing many of his signature hits that made the Quo name, plus some personal favourites and deeper cuts, and he’ll be telling more stories about his incredible life in music.

Think you know Francis? Not yet you don’t… The story starts with ‘Pictures of Matchstick Men’ but continues right up to the present day.

Francis will mostly be playing his Acoustasonic guitar which, as he says, “is basically a Telecaster but is more compatible with a show of this nature – it still has the ring and sound of a Tele”.

Francis himself says, “This is a brand new show, I have been experimenting with the catalogue and I know what works best. It’s been fascinating and I have been amazed how well some songs work in a lower key, or with a different arrangement.

In 2025 there will be plenty of songs included that I haven’t done before: ‘Army’, ‘Dirty Water’, ‘Don’t Waste My Time’, ‘Roll Over Lay Down’; even ‘Down Down’ – which I was very surprised to find worked this way, but it’s fantastic.

These shows are a real treat for me, they suit my voice really well, and I don’t have to yell. Plus I know people enjoy the likes of ‘Caroline’, ‘Paper Plane’, ‘Break The Rules’, ‘What You’re Proposin’’ and ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’ so I’ll be putting those in again too!

This show lays out the story of Quo – some of the things that have happened I can barely believe myself – and it tells my own story too.”

Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity.

Based on the cherished 2003 New Line Cinema hit, Elf features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (Disney's Aladdin On Broadway, The Wedding Singer), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone).

Buddy, a young orphan mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole.

The would-be elf is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.

With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity.

Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list, and his step-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

This modern day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
